Hi everyone,

Sorry for not posting in a really long while. I have been swamped with work, family members ill, friends in trouble, husband starting new ‘apna kaam’ ( that’s self employed for my non Hindi speaking friends)….the list goes on. But excuses aside I will try and post more frequently.

Now for some news..

My work will be available on two sites online-
http://shopo.in/shop/artbyaarohi run by the very enterprising Krithika Nelson and
http://ofindianorigin.co.uk/shop/ run by the wonderful and creative blogger Nisha John Rao.

There is not a whole lot of work up there right now….but I am working on adding to the stock :-)

Do go and enjoy their sites.

Thank you Aparna Chandra for taking the time to listen to my views on art and Kitsch. It’s indeed an honour to be talked of in the same article as Mr Yusuf Arrakal…to actually hold my own on a differing viewpoint…wow!! You can read the article here.

I have been really busy painting for the last couple of weeks. I have an exhibition planned later this month, right here in Bangalore.  Next post will have the details on that.

Till then, here is a ‘chhota’ post with my work, which made it to the annual list in the HT Mint of stuff to buy for Diwali.

A big thank you to Gagan over at ‘Of Peacocks and Paisleys’ for doing a very generous post on me and my work. It was absolutely wonderful chatting with you Gagan. You ( my readers) can see that post here.

I also wanted to take this time to ask everyone who has covered my work in the past to please send the links to me. I would like to thank you for your generosity and to put your website links on my site. I know some, some seem to have slipped under the radar…. I will be putting this up shortly. I am currently in the middle of two commissions that have VERY tight deadlines!

Will post the new work and the ‘thank you’ list soon.Wait for it.

Times Of India- Crest Edition

Posted by aarohi | Posted in Articles, kitsch, press | Posted on 26-06-2010

After a long hiatus, my kitsch work is back in the press. A big thank you to Neelam Raaj for a wonderfully written article. The article talks about a new breed of young designers, who are going against the tide of mass production by offering quirky and vibrant home accessories. “From pop art-themed wall clocks and kitschy kettles to India-inspired coasters and naughty playing cards, there’s a range of stuff that can add personality to your living room…”

Feels good to be in such creative company.
