For my daughter and her great grand father
Posted by aarohi | Posted in kitsch, Portraits, Thoughts | Posted on 20-07-2011
Meera told me in all her innocence, her sparkling blue-grey eyes filled with hope – Mama, lets take her to the hospital and then the doctor will fix her and make her alive again…and then her beautiful colours can fly. My daughter at almost five is very articulate. Needless to say, I had the unhappy task of telling her that once something/someone dies, they can’t come back. They go to heaven and are always happy.
This kettle is inspired by her. I hope my daughter (and son) always have blue skies and colourful wings to soar with….
…and for Nanaji- you just added a lot of happiness and colour to heaven!! Do say hi to Haritha for me

Sorry for not posting in a really long while. I have been swamped with work, family members ill, friends in trouble, husband starting new ‘apna kaam’ ( that’s self employed for my non Hindi speaking friends)….the list goes on. But excuses aside I will try and post more frequently.
Now for some news..
My work will be available on two sites online-
http://shopo.in/shop/artbyaarohi run by the very enterprising Krithika Nelson and
http://ofindianorigin.co.uk/shop/ run by the wonderful and creative blogger Nisha John Rao.
There is not a whole lot of work up there right now….but I am working on adding to the stock
Do go and enjoy their sites.

Update: Protsahan
Posted by aarohi | Posted in Acrylics, Event, kitsch | Posted on 04-05-2011
Just to let you all know… The Delhi Twestival was able to raise 50,000 INR from the sale of my Ganapati paintings. Although Protsahan is still to receive the money…I have no doubt it will eventually get there. As per my understanding, three of the paintings were bought by the Madhya Pradesh Emporium and one by a private buyer.
Thank you
Since the funds raised will be used for the education of 59 girls from various streets and slums….this seemed an appropriate image!
