Aarohi is a self taught artist. With her
first exhibition at the prestigious Triveni
Kala Sangam, New Delhi, in 1994, Aarohi's
talent found instant success and patrons.
She has been selling her work directly to
clients since then.
Aarohi debuted
in Bangalore with an exhibition at Oxford
Bookstore in the Leela Galleria two years
ago, which attracted rave reviews in the
media. This is her second exhibition.
Unlike many artists, who prefer
to work in one or two mediums, Aarohi works
on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Cardboard, Wood,
and Fabric, and paints in oils, acrylics,
watercolours, and pastels. No matter what
the medium, she prefers to paint people,
in their myriad moods and colours. She is
currently going through a 'kitsch phase',
but she has pen-and-ink ideas bubbling on
the back burner which will probably find
expression in her next collection.
Aarohi blogs about her thoughts, her
life, and her work at
artbyaarohi.com. |
